A Practical Plan for North Bay
Taxpayers First. Accountable Leadership. A Stronger North Bay.
I believe we can do better.
North Bay is a remarkable city with incredible people, businesses and opportunities. But too many residents feel they are paying more, waiting longer and receiving less in return.
As your Mayor, my commitment is simple:
- Put taxpayers first
- Restore accountability at City Hall
- Deliver results and provide quarterly updates and annual report cards
- Make our neighbourhoods and streets safe
- Grow a strong local economy
- Restore pride in North Bay
Priority 1: Respect Every Tax Dollar
Every decision should start with one question: Can taxpayers afford it?
Families and businesses make difficult financial decisions every day. City Hall should do the same.
Government does not spend its own money. It spends yours. Every dollar should have a purpose, and residents should be able to see what they are getting in return.
If families have to tighten their belts, City Hall should too.
As Mayor, I will
- Provide fiscal leadership and accountability.
- Focus on outcomes, not activities.
- Hold the line on property taxes whenever possible.
- Ensure better value on spending and focus on essential services.
- Reduce spending on consultants.
- Improve budgeting and financial reporting.
- Eliminate waste.
Priority 2: Fix City Hall
City Hall should work for residents — not the other way around.
You deserve a City Hall that listens, responds and delivers.
Good people work at City Hall. They deserve clear leadership, and taxpayers deserve better results.
We need to improve accountability, make decisions faster, reduce unnecessary bureaucracy and make City Hall easier to deal with.
Good staff deserve leadership. Taxpayers deserve results.
As Mayor, I will
- Provide leadership in restoring accountability and integrity at City Hall.
- Establish clear service standards for staff.
- Cut unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Cut red tape and measure results — not paperwork.
- Improve customer service, reduce wait times and modernise online services.
- Allow residents to track permits and service requests.
Priority 3: Build a North Bay People Choose
North Bay should be a city people choose to live in, invest in and visit.
We have tremendous strengths: our waterfront, downtown, neighbourhoods, businesses, natural setting and community spirit.
We need leadership that helps North Bay realise its potential.
A successful city attracts families, supports local businesses, welcomes investments and creates the kind of community people are proud to call home.
North Bay should be Drive-To — not Drive-Through.
As Mayor, I will
- Provide leadership in attracting new investment.
- Invest in recruiting new doctors.
- Focus on quality of life assets to attract new residents.
- Make parks, fields and courts available for all, not just for those who can pay.
- Support local businesses and cut red tape for investment and development.
- Encourage waterfront events and festivals for residents and tourists.
- Promote North Bay with confidence.
Priority 4: Stronger Neighbourhoods. Safer Streets.
Compassion and public safety can — and must — go hand in hand.
You deserve to feel safe in your neighbourhoods, parks, trails, downtown and public spaces.
At the same time, people experiencing homelessness, addiction and mental health challenges need access to treatment, housing, recovery and appropriate supports.
We can support people in crisis, without our community descending into crisis, and protect the safety and quality of life of the broader community.
People have the right to feel safe in their own city.
As Mayor, I will
- Provide leadership in bringing solutions that are working in other communities.
- Fight for every federal and provincial dollar available to deal with homelessness, addiction and mental health issues.
- Improve coordination between police, health, housing, outreach and other agencies to protect neighbourhoods while supporting people in crisis.
First 100 days
- Clean up City Hall and provide strong leadership so staff have clear direction.
- Provide report card on City services, programmes and staff.
- Cut red tape and get rid of outdated processes.
- Create a culture of “getting things done” and measure outcomes not activities.
- Review all spending on consultants.
North Bay has everything it needs to succeed.
North Bay needs strong leadership, tested experience, innovative approaches and the will of Mayor and council to use every tool available to move our city forward. We need leadership that listens, acts and delivers.
As Mayor, I will work every day to build a City Hall that respects taxpayers, delivers better services, supports business, strengthens neighbourhoods and restores confidence in our community. Together, we can build a North Bay that works better for everyone.
