  1. 2022—Present

    Member of Council

    City of North Bay

    Led municipal governance with a focus on transparency, accountability and modernization.

    • Moved forward discussions on improving organizational systems and technology.
    • Led committees focused on health, finance, economic development and waste management.
  2. 2014—2022

    Chief Executive Officer

    Cassellholme & Castle Arms

    Improved the performance of a complex long-term-care and seniors’ housing organization while leading a major redevelopment project.

    • Led approximately 400 employees represented by four unions.
    • Saved $500,000 annually by redesigning the management structure.
    • Advanced a $120-million redevelopment involving nine municipalities.
    • Created Ontario’s first purpose-built, 16-bed Indigenous long-term-care unit.
    • Founding co-chair of an Ontario Health Team with more than 30 partners.
  3. 2007—2013

    Commissioner, Community Services

    City of Brampton

    Led one of the city’s largest and most diverse departments, improving its finances, operations and workplace culture.

    • Managed a $142.9-million operating budget and a $62.8-million capital budget.
    • Led more than 900 full-time and 1,900 part-time employees.
    • Reduced employee grievances by 90%.
    • Reduced workplace injuries by more than 50%.
    • Led the $30-million-plus redevelopment of Chinguacousy Park.
  4. 2005—2007

    Director, Park Maintenance & Operations

    City of Brampton

    Updated the management structure, supervision and service standards for the city’s growing parks system.

    • Managed an approximately $20-million budget and 152 full-time employees.
    • Received the City Manager Award for leadership across departments.
  5. 2002—2005

    Superintendent of Municipal Operations

    City of Pickering

    Brought parks, fleet, public works and contract services together into one coordinated municipal operation.

    • Helped establish the city’s Customer Care Centre.
    • Received the CAO Board of Management Award for customer service.
  6. 1992—2002

    Municipal & Consulting Leadership

    Markham · Marshall Macklin Monaghan

    Led parks, infrastructure and consulting projects while creating award-winning community programs.

    • Created Ontario’s first community-improvement program for at-risk students.
    • Received the Don Bayer Award for Planning Excellence.
    • Recommended for Associate status at the consulting firm within three months.
